Surely we Americans would like to see our fellow citizens prosper. If not you should leave here. Buying American does many things for us and our great nation. Paying a little more in many cases, not all, insures job creation here. Every nickel spent on MADE IN THE USA products creates jobs and income for fellow Americans. Not having to haul goods from China cuts down on the pollution caused by long distance distribution, and improves balance of trade. Also, goods manufactured in America are not allowed to be built in often times polluting manufacturing methods. Buying foreign products kills vital industries here, making America dependent upon sometimes hostile nations for strategic supplies. Maybe the biggest reason to Buy American is that product quality is accountable to US citizens and not potentially laced with poisons or faulty construction. Buying locally increases national income and opportunity and has a tendency to increase local prosperity. This is because an injection of extra income leads to increased spending, which creates more income, and so on. The multiplier effect refers to an increase in final income arising from any new injection of spending. A more patriotic action would be hard to imagine. Next time you have a choice BUY USA.
