I cannot help but be in absolute numbness over the passing of one fine Heldentenor, Mister Johan Botha. It was incredibly unexpected as he had one of the finest and handsomest Heldentenor voices ever and even though he wasn't so much of an actor, he still used his voice to the best of his abilities with roles like Otello and Tannhäuser. So here's my review of Tannhäuser live from the Met from last year as my sort of tribute to this great tenor and everything he's defined by. May you rest in peace, Herr Botha.
