John McAfee, the famous British American tech-guru who has been in the limelight not only for the famous antivirus company founded by him (which he famously quit back in 1994) but also for his eccentric behaviour and revelations and most recently for the storm created by him on Twitter where he claimed to having charged $105,000 per promotional tweet, implying that per character typed costs about $375.
This was something that was not implied or made clear during this entire time that he has been doling out tweets in favor of products in the cryptocurrency industry.
The newly mentioned team — Team McAafee has on their site claimed that
“A single tweet has resulted in more than a million dollars of investment into an ICO, and multiple currencies have increased more than 100% in price from a single tweet.”
They have also put out an image of McAfee’s analysed tweet where according to them, In addition to Mr. McAfee’s 810,000 direct followers, each of his tweets reach beyond them, frequently to many millions of crypto adherents.
They are terming the effect that John McAfee’s tweets have after promotion as THE MCAFEE EFFECT.
They have even demonstrated how the promotion works, backed up by more facts and figures.
The pricing structure and packages and even testimonials by their clients have been published on their official site.
While all of this points out to the fact that all of the tweets that have been put out by McAfee earlier have been promotional, it does feel like his loyal followers are scorned and he faced a backlash to which he put out a reply on Twitter.
Amongst, all this there have been allegations that McAfee was extorting Sunerok, the creator of Verge. According to Verge promoter XVGWhale, McAfee flipped his support for Verge because the creator failed to pay him $1.1 million dollars in ether threatening to destroy the project with manufactured Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD) through his tweets.
And ultimately, that’s what happened. Verge did fall victim to FUD and, now after the revelations, the allegations don’t seem that unbelievable.
To this day, McAfee still denies he claimed Verge had the potential to become the world’s leading privacy coin and has now deleted his former tweets in which he made bold statements about the cryptocurrency’s value.
All of the above evidences just point in one direction that all the content put forward by him through various social media have been nothing but a strategy to earn more money, and those that haven’t been able to pay have faced his WRATH (Verge).
All these claims make him look less of an Enthusiastic Technocrat and All these claims make him look less of an enthusiastic Technocrat and more of a Paid Shill who would promote in exchange for money .
