Facebook has transformed its company into three major groups; Family of Apps, New Platform and Infrastructure, and Central Product Services.
WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger belong to the Family of Apps group. While AI, AR / VR, blockchain and team of engineers entered the New Platform and Infrastructure team. While advertising, analysis, and product management teams go to Central Product Services.
Head of Internet.org Facebook, Chris Daniels will take over WhatsApp power has been abandoned by its CEO Jan Koum.
While Instagram Head Kevin Weil and head of Messenger Facebook, David Marcus, will be under former CTO Mike Schroepfer who now heads the New Platform and Infrastructure.
