Former New York Jets and New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma earned $37.4 million during a solid 10-year career. The Miami (F) product was never among the game's best but he acted as a stabilizing force for his defenses throughout a solid career.
Speaking of being a stabilizing force, Vilma just upped the value of properties for homeowners in a gated Tahiti Beach Island neighborhood in his home state of Florida.
According to Curbed Miami, the former football player and current ESPN analyst got $14.4 million for this five bedroom, 5.5 bath waterfront property.

The property and its views really are all sorts of amazing.
Just look at the view from one of the bedrooms.

Vilma's return on investment was absolutely huge here. Back in 2011, he purchased this home for a mere $6.1 million. Sure Vilma has upgraded the property, but the selling price some seven years later is insane. Talk about taking advantage of a booming Coral Gables housing market.
Unfortunately, Vilma will more than miss the amazing views from his now old home.

That's the price you pay for making roughly $8.3 million on an investment and being able to call this property home for seven years.
Well played, Mr. Vilma.
