We've all seen how the blockchain technology has proved to be a solid working process. How cool would it be if people can buy and trade exclusive footwear such as retro Air Jordans and Addidas Yeezy's without worrying about being scammed. There is a ton of horror stories concerning the sale of the aforementioned shoe brands related to ebay, paypal and amazon. Basically a buyer can scam the seller by opening false claims such as item not as described, fake, or simply not received. The seller can scam the buyer as well, by sending a fake, unauthorized gray market pair or something non related to what was purchashed.

You might ask how can the block chaining technology help provide a safe community for sneaker the enthusiast community. I have a few solutions that can help: Buyer and seller will communicate on the block chain network and the seller must provide accurate and detailed pictures of the exclusive sneaker as well as tracking and shipping information. To ensure the safety of both parties a centralized entity will be in charge of ensuring that the item being bought/ sold is in fact what is being agreed upon by the seller and the buyer. The seller will have to send the item to the third party and after the item is inspected it is then sent to the buyer.

Involving a third party might not be convenient for some people, however the involvement of a third party for the sale of exclusive and rare footwear might help reduce a lot of scams that are associated with such items. Hopefully the use of block chaining technology will help the sneaker collecting community in major ways. Do you think the sneaker community will begin to adopt the block chaining technology in the future? What are your thoughts?
