Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini celebrates after scoring against Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester on Thursday (5/11/2017).
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admits he is surprised by Belgian coach Roberto Martinez's decision to play Marouane Fellaini .
According to Mourinho, Marouane Fellaini is in a state of injury when forced down defending Belgium.
Fellaini complained of pain in his calf while playing against Greece in the 2018 World Cup Qualifying match.
Nevertheless, Roberto Martinez continued to play Fellaini for 89 minutes.
It is also experienced by the captain of Manchester City and Belgian national team, Vincent Kompany.
Three days before Fellaini was injured, Kompany suffered a knee injury when Belgium partied a 9-0 goal over Gibraltar.
The injury leaves Kompany to miss Manchester City's big match against Liverpool.
"Fellaini is a very important player for me, more important than you know," Mourinho said as quoted by BolaSport.com from Telegraph .
Mourinho calls his squad power reduced without the presence of 29-year-old player.
"What happened to Roberto Martinez is out of control, Kompany is healthy and comfortable on the pitch but then he suffered an injury, and so did Fellaini," said the Portuguese coach.
Next, Manchester United will play the inaugural match in the Champions League against FC Basel on Wednesday (13/09/2017).
Without the presence of Fellaini, Mourinho only has Ander Herrera as a coat in the midfield of the Red Devils.
