I love technology. As time goes on you will see a high percentage of my posts will be about something tech related. However, this me, my personal blog and I want you to get to know me for more than just technology.

Even though, I've already labeled as a "techie" by many people and hold to the ideals of a true hacker as described by Eric Raymond. My love of tech reaches into every part of my life, but over the past two years now I forced myself into the analog. Using a pen and paper to capture my thoughts instead of a million apps on my phone or yet another program on my laptop or desktop.

I'm the same way. I use too much tech in my everyday life, so retreating to analog for journaling is a very nice escape and helps me be more organized, more focused, and less distracted. And yeah it does help you remember, eh? Muscle memory is an amazing thing.

I was into fountain pens for a long time, but recently I found myself attracted to simple pencils. Just as with everything these days, there is a huge pencil lover community out there (blackwing pencils, the expensive luxury pencil of the pencil world, are their god) and a few members of it drew me in by sending me free pencils and making me appreciate them. I still use my fountain pens in some cases, or my good old Signo RT, but pencils have become my go-to writing device.

Good post. BTW, this is the first I've seen of Publii. How do you like it so far? My previous website of 12 years, before I migrated to Steem, was with Wordpress. I both liked WP and hated it, but I had fully customized much of the install so I never wanted to take the time to move things elsewhere. Does Publii give you complete CSS control? Do they allow markdown? On WP I has been using a customized plugin that added markdown support.

I've been entertaining the idea of restarting a website separate from Steem for awhile, but haven't done it yet. I like the look of your site though. Maybe I should make the move.

Does Publii give you complete CSS control?

Not sure how 'complete' but there is a section for custom CSS and a developer mode that I have yet to mess with.

Do they allow markdown?

Minimal but working on full integration.

I think its a great for anyone that just wants to get a blog up and running. I am actually working to move my site to Grav as we speak. Grav has a pretty steep learning curve but its been fun. I would not recommend Grav to anyone without same dev. experience but I would for Publii.

I am moving to Grav so I can keep everything synced in my Git repository in case I have to make edits or upload on the road.

Publii is a desktop application.
