My Very First Steemit Post, Crypto Journey - Crypto With Incin

in journey •  7 years ago

So who am I and how did I get into cryptocurrencies? I'm just the average person, who like many others, have been looking at different ways to make easy cash doing little to no work. Well according to my parents and pretty much everyone I know, you simply can't make any "free" money, and everything takes work. Well with that I was on a mission, to first prove my friends/family wrong as well as make some spare cash to buy what I wanted. This mission, ended up leading me directly to Bitcoin on December of 2017. At the time I had no knowledge what so ever on the topic, and all I saw was a video from this one youtuber, BrandCoin titled "My gtx 1060 Rig Makes How Much?!?!". Moment I clicked on it and watched a few minutes I knew this was just the thing for me.

What hardware did I have to mine? Well exactly a year before, I had built my very first gaming pc, although gaming was quite an exaggeration. I had a 750ti, fx 8320 cpu, 8gb of ddr3 and a few other specs that don't really matter.

Now, back then on Nicehash, I was easily making around $3 a day, with my cpu making $1.80 and my 750ti making anywhere from $1.10-$1.45. I thought I was set. All I needed to do was mine for around 2-3 months and I would have enough to buy myself a gtx 1060. Boy was I wrong. Unfortunately the beginning of the cryptocurrency downfall had started, plummeting the value of bitcoin from 19K to near 7k.

With bitcoin hovering around $9k, I have made a decent amount of money (Also ending up purchasing a gtx 1050, as well as a new motherboard). The beginning of April was the call for me to finally move away from nicehash however. I loved how easy it was to use, but after seeing so many people post how much money they were making mining different coins, I knew the time was up. For the next 3 weeks I ended up mining some electroneum, zencash as well as some Skein. Unfortunately none have made me a millionaire just yet, but I'm patiently waiting :).

Currently, I am mining a coin name Origin and let me tell you, it is probably even more profitable than the December/January days. With the two cards I have, I'm averaging close to $2.75 cents a day with the coin worth approx. $.005. This is probably the best investment that I will be making when it comes to crypto as it has such great potential once it is accepted on an exchange. Mining for only 1 week now, I made a trade with another person on the Origin trading Server, for $28.50 in bitcoin in exchange for 5,700 origin. Back with mining on Nicehash, I would be lucky to make $1 a day, and now I can finally let my cpu rest and not force it to mine to make me some profit.

My future plans really depend on where Origin goes, but with my goal being that origin makes it to $.05, this summer I plan on starting a 1070ti rig, and showing to my parents that yes, you can make money without putting any work.

Nice to read about how you got started with crypto. Remember to keep some of what you earn in savings for longer-term investment. Cheers

Will do! Cheers!

Great post!
Also, a little bit of shameless promotion here, Here's a guide on setting up and mining Origin

Interesting Journey. So did you succeed in proving your friends wrong or, are you still progressing in doing so?
Moreover, in my opinion even mining crypto-currencies is not "free" money as of that statement is bares any truth. The whole crowd of people who rushed in to crypto-currencies would be millionaires right now. Mining crypto-currencies does not make you reach in an instant and requires good knowledge to fair well in it.

Nice first post!

Thanks! More coming ;)
