Absolutely haunting and astounding that the closest pictures yet of Jupiter look exactly like any number of Van Gogh paintings. I am just speechless. I have had a lifelong fascination for Van Gogh. He was such an amazingly sensitive man, tortured by the tragedies of life, deeply in love with nature, but also very compassionate toward laborers and just average people coping with their lives. When I saw these pictures from Jupiter, I could not believe this. It means that Van Gogh's genius was not inventing forms unseen, but remembering primordial forms never seen before. Time and space, a most strange and beautiful thing. In the era of quantum physics, I am struck by how connected we may all be across space and time, through what physicists have called "spooky" things. I find great comfort in the limitless and visionary capacity of the human mind and heart, even as we continue to mess up as a species when it comes to caring for and stewarding this sacred earth. Perhaps we are learning, ever so slowly, to be in love with the universe.

Very true. Connections across space, time and other dimensions. Van Gogh was definitely in touch with this, as evidenced by his intuitive grasp of the vortex - something modern science is only now coming to understand in its significance to the nature of the universe.
