Introducing @shadowmask
Here is the link to my introducing my secondary account and some of the why. I created the account on 8/18/2018, and two days ago I made my first post on it.

This image does not mean I am sunsetting my old account @bashadow, this account is a just-in-case account. This image is meant to show that both of these accounts are mine.
Why a Second Account
I have two people that are supporting and helping me grow from minnow status to dolphin status. @tcpolymath and @fulltimegeek have been an immense help to me over the last several months in building my account. I do not want to abuse their generosity in helping me at all. When I get to 1100 SP I am going to need to think of a community type project, I will likely use my second account for that. I have gotten to where I am getting 4 or 5 post a week out on my account, a slight improvement over the 3 to 4 a week I used to get out.
I have also been very much enjoying taking pictures, and have a lot more I want and will be sharing in post, but I do not want my primary account to be only pictures. I still enjoy participating in games and challenges, and in trying to do some writing, and in making post that help new users, so I want to keep the variety I have going. Both TC and FTG have a lot of people they are supporting and helping, me throwing up, (I do not mean that in a bad way), a lot of picture logs I feel would be abusing their generosity. My account thus far this year I feel has had a nice mix of the type post I mentioned, and I do not want it to become to lopsided.
The above is my primary reason for the second account.
Secondary Reasoning Why A Second Account
As most people by now know HF20 is taking place on or about September 25th. @steemitblog made this post not to long ago - -
https://steemit.com/hf20/@steemitblog/velocity-hardfork-account-creation-guidelines.
In that post I asked the following question:
Does this mean that if I want to create a second or third account I am going to have to pay someone instead of using steemconnect?
Here are the two responses I got to that question:
[-]timcliff (73) · yesterday
You will still be able to create an account with SteemConnect. It will just burn the account creation fee, instead of vesting it to the new account.
and
smooth (68) · yesterday
It should be possible, in theory, to use steemconnect to claim and create 'free' accounts using RCs, but low SP users in practice will likely not be able to do so.
Not very reassuring responses. When I used steemconnect it "cost" 3 steem, but the reality of that "cost" was 0 steem. The 3 steem it cost to make the account was deposited into the newly created account as your initial SP, so a zero sum loss.
Prior to learning this the only way I knew how to go about getting a second account was to go through one of the other people, charging from 10 Steem, to Jerry Bainfield, (yes I know that is not how he spells his name), wanting to charge people 30 steem or more for accounts. So it comes to a matter of trust, witnesses set the price of new accounts, a couple of the account creators were witnesses selling account for more than the cost of creating them, so I have a few "trust" issues.
A Really Big Thank You
I learned how to create my second account from @thedarkhorse post explaining how to do it in very easy to follow set of instructions:
https://steemit.com/education/@thedarkhorse/creating-a-new-account-instantly-d57f4ff0c7c22est
If you found any of that information valuable, head on over to the @pifc and give them a vote on any of their post. (just in case you did not know), Pay-it-forward, curation was the brainchild of @thedarkhorse.
Perfect timing for this post. I was just discussing with someone today setting up a secondary account. I did not realise the time sensitive nature of the decision. Thanks for the heads up on that issue.

It may or may not be time sensitive but when two top witnesses, are not even sure how it will work, well I guess it could be considered time sensitive in that respect. There will always be ways and means to create new accounts, but to be able to create your own new account with no middle man may be going by the wayside, and may not, it seems it will depend on the level of the account.

Well I am a low level so may want to consider speeding up a decision on that. Besides can't hurt to have it.

Your balance is below $0.3. Your account is running low and should be replenished. You have roughly 10 more @dustsweeper votes. Check out the Dustsweeper FAQ here: https://steemit.com/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-faq

I got mine set up and find it it easy to switch back and forth using @esteem! Thanks so much for your help. It will be easy for you to remember me. I was looking at your @shadowmask account and never gave a thought to how close @melshadow was to your primary.name. Good thing I will probably only use it for a curation account.

If you are only going to use it for a curation account then you definitely want to give it a little bit of SP, or else it will be hard to get any curation rewards. The first week of my new one even with 53 SP and ten votes a day I think curation reward I only managed 0.009 SP. but it is better than nothing. And you never know what experiments you might want to run.

hard to tell right now how much of a pain in the ass it will be, but at least I have a second place, just in case, and a place to put more picture post on, and still keep my primary balanced somewhat.

I made a second account for a community based project but I got stuck when I realized that I could barely keep up with posting on my own account. So I have left it alone for a bit but I will definitely use it soon.
I opened the account in the same manner as I opened the first, just filled the form and waited to be approved. Well if it would become difficult to get a secondary account after HF20, then I am glad I got it now. I just need to think of what to use it for.
I have been seeing your secondary account on some of my posts' curation and I have wondered, well now I know. Thank you bro for being there for me. I appreciate deeply.

I was not sure what I was going to do with it, so I was using it to supplement a few votes.
