Baby Moose
It has pretty much been raining off and on since last Friday, while the rains give birth to new greener grasses and plants and spurs the growth of new birch tree shoots, it is also birthing season for the Moose. We are lucky in one respect with where we live, moose are creatures of habit and thus have their favorite haunts and learning grounds. We have a Moose that for the last several years brings her newborns to our fields to teach and show them what to eat, how to hide and what ever other lessons moose teach their young.
@shasta, (my wife), has a naming post up for this new little one. So if you ever wanted the chance to name a moose head on over there. I of course took a lot of pictures, but decided that I would do a little animated gif of seven of them.
I maybe should have had a little bit more of a delay for each frame. As close as we can figure the baby was likely born on either Sunday or Monday. Quite possible on Tuesday which is when we first saw her. My pictures are from Wednesday morning.
Oh that is adorable @bashadow! :-)
Something about that T-post the babies like to lick and headbutt it lol

That's an awesome sight to see. It's pretty rare to see moose, at least in most parts of the world. I've only ever seen one or two in the wild myself on vacation in B.C. I doubt many people every get to see them at all. Awesome photos!

We have gotten to where we wait for the arrival, it is really great when you get to see twins. Their arrival means summer is close at hand.

What great shots of the baby moose. Babies look awkward with the long legs but such magnificent creatures.
I was thinking of Ziggy for the name. For some reason Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie came to mind. U&R
