Justice in the Bible: Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone

The Bible constantly teaches us that where there is no love for our neighbor and for God there can be no justice, in other words, the foundation of justice is love. This is why love is listed as the greatest commandment: "Serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul" Deuteronomy 10:12, and "But love your neighbor as yourself" Leviticus 19:18.
The concept of justice is of the utmost importance because, as Aristotle said, the end of justice is friendship, in fact, justice is defined as generalized friendship according to the philosopher, when justice is lost, all social ties between men are broken.
And the Bible tells us how the prophet Moses instituted the principle of justice among the people of Israel before entering Canaan. With Moses were born the Judges, who ruled in the land of Israel since the conquest of the country until the first king of Israel Saul, the judges constituted the first and the only aristocracy in the history of Israel. God inspired many of these men so that the people would not fall into the sin of idolatry, and there were very notable judges such as the formidable Samson and the prophet Samuel.
This is how the Bible tells us how the first judges were appointed by Moses:
"So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have authority over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials. And I charged you judges at that time, ´Hear the disputes between your people and judge fairly, whether the case is between two Israelites or between an Israelite and a foreigner residing among you. Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.´ And at that time I told you everything you were to do" Deuteronomy 1:15-18.
