With the advent of HF20, and with the ease and speed of lost/stolen accounts due to accidents of copy/paste operations, I thought it a very good idea to get my Just-In-Case account. Just like my original account, I really have no clue what I am going to do with this one. I still do not know what I am doing with my first account other than having some fun with it.
My original account, (@bashadow), I thought I would include that so you don't need to go digging in steemd or the wallet or however you want to find out what my original account is. This is a back up account, so not a lot may happen on it, but then again, you just never know what will happen next.
I was picked by @tcpolymath to be part of his middle class dolphin building program. I am still along way from the next level, but in order to level up we need to do a community thing, so I may use this account for that.
Here is his next phase going into operation - - Apply here for dolphin support: 1000-1500 SP accounts - - Take a look, follow some of the links, and look at his post and especially look at @themesopotamians if you think you may be interested in his program. I am looking forward to the day I reach that next level, 1000SP. I was very happy when I could finally give out a two cent vote, and then when I got my vote slider, and now for the next phase.
He, (@tcpolymath) doesn't make a lot of demands on those that he picks, in fact he does not care if you vote on a single thing he himself puts out, he is doing this because of his belief in steemit, and his belief that to make steemit more viable a solid middle class needs to be developed.
So this is my justincase account. In my @bashadow account I most often use as my first tag #justbecause, because all my post are made just because I felt like making a post. The first tag is the only tag you can not edit, or so we are told. (I am not sure if this has changed due to a post made by a witness talking about unlimited no timed out edit function for those with the skill and knowledge to do so). So for me and most of us the first tag is not changeable. So all of that being said, my first tag for this account will be #justincase, because every post made here is to keep it active justincase my other account has an accident.
This image does not mean I am sunsetting my old account @bashadow, this account is a just-in-case account. This image is meant to show that both of these accounts are mine.
Future Opportunity

I think having two accounts is going to be a bit of a pain in the ass, however I do want this account to grow a little bit of Reputation, and SP since it is a Just-in-case account. So I will be doing some postings, most likely it will be Photography related, but I do not plan on restricting what I will be posting here. I will be editing this post to include a current picture I took today. I am hoping that a thumbnail image will show after an edit to add one.
I don't understand the need for a just in case account...should we all have one?

I copy and paste a lot, and I have accidentally pasted my posting key before, so for me I think it is a good thing, a pain in the ass as I mentioned, but also since I am going to try and stay with the dolphin middle class building that tcpolymath is doing, I am going to need a community project, so this account will likely become is source point if ever needed. And no one is sure what is going to happen for account creation once HF20 goes into effect, so also a just in case account that it becomes a lot of steem or sbd to obtain a second account. I did not know about this method of getting a second account until a few weeks ago, prior to that if I wanted or needed a second account there were plenty of places to get one but they all charged from 10steem to the exorbitant rip-off price of 25steem or more from jerry bainfield.

So..what is the method you used to get a 2nd account? Congrats on that Steem delegation!

Sorry about missing your comment, @shasta let me know about it. If you think that for whatever reason in the future you might want a second account this post from @thedarkhorse explains it in very easy to follow instructions: https://steemit.com/education/@thedarkhorse/creating-a-new-account-instantly-d57f4ff0c7c22est
I asked in the steemitblog post - - https://steemit.com/hf20/@steemitblog/velocity-hardfork-account-creation-guidelines - - the following question:
Two responses:
and
So still a few questions about it. Right now it cost you 3 steem to create it yourself, all other places seem to be like I said earlier charging a lot more. The 3 steem goes in to the new account, so you don't really pay for it. After I created my second account I delegated myself 50 SP so I could get a little bit of vote power when I vote.
The " possible, in theory" part from smooth is what is worrisome, and the new RC verse SP thing. In the post they talk about the witnesses setting the "fee" to create an account.

Thank you so much for taking the time to put together a very detailed reply, @shadowmask! I appreciate your help here, @shasta! You do make it sound very easy! My new account may have to have a shadowy kind of name, too!

You are welcome, I thought I would share my new account and the why of and where I learned how to make one, on my primary account. Until I need this account for my TC level up I am going to use it as my follow on picture post account.

I think I did it...using the name Melshadow. The 3 SP is no longer in my Steem balance, but it doesn't show in transaction history as leaving my account. I am totally confused, or just computer ignorant, on how to go to my new account. I wrote down the password. Do I have to logout as Melinda010100? This may have been a bad idea for someone who is tech challenged!

I see you found it. Yeah, you see even for software unaware people it was a pretty easy thing to do. It wont show in your wallet what happened, it will on steemd show that you created the account.
The 3 steem will be 3 SP in the new account.

A second account can also be used for a curation trail voting account. You can delegate a set amount of SP to the account and sign up for a vote trail. This makes sure your main account power isn't drained when you need it.
