Stud bed for K40 Laser cutter

in k40 •  7 years ago

I have made a couple of options for the bead of my laser cutter using spikes that are usually used in leatherworking

Here is one where the spikes are 2.5cm tall

Here is one where I am using 8mm tall spikes - I use this the most

Pretty interesting. Is this for engraving and maybe etching?

yup, also for cutting
The reason to raise the work a bit from the actual bed is to reduce the effect of reflection of th ebeam onto the underside of the work piece.. because it's raised, the beam would be out of focus by the time it hits the underside reflection on the work piece
