Today's Kanji is this.

This Kanji means "Japan".

Let's see each letter.

Kanji[1] means "Sun","Day" etc.

And Kanji[2] means "Book", "Source" etc.

So These Kanji means "The country where sun comes from".

Old Japanese is very romantic and optimistic I think...
