Ganguly Kathua gangrape case, Parliamentarians of Pakistani origin stirred up the issue

London: Lord Ahmed of Pakistan's origin raised the issue of rape and murder with an eight-year-old girl in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir in the upper house 'House of Lords' of the British Parliament. Ahmad, the staunch critic of the Indian government, urged the UK government to intervene in the matter of justice to bring the violators of human rights into the purview of justice. On behalf of the UK Government, Baroness Steadman Scott said that India has a strong democratic structure which assures human rights.

He said, "But we believe that in view of their size and extent, there is a lot of challenges in implementing these basic rights contained in the Constitution." It is worth mentioning that Kachua's eight-year-old girl was abducted on January 10. The girl was held hostage in a temple. During this he was hungry and drug was given and gang-rape was done with the child. After this the child was murdered. The body of the girl was found on 17 January from Rasana village jungle.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the incident on April 13 saying that the culprits will not be spared. In this case eight people, including head constable, a sub-inspector, two special police officers were arrested and seven of them have been charged.
