The creed is the first pillar of Islam. Syahadat is a sign of Islam a person, not yet said by a Muslim if not yet know or have never read the shahada. The creed itself is the main foundation of all Islamic teachings and is also the spirit for the Islamic religion.
The creed is derived from the Arabic word syahida (شهد) which means watching. The phrase in the Shari'ah of Islam is a statement of the oneness of God (Allah) and Muhammad is His messenger or His Apostle. Syahadat is often referred to as Syahadatain, karean in the sentence shahadat consists of 2 sentences that is:

First sentence: Asyhadu al laa ilaaha illa-l-Laah.
Meaning: I testify that there is no god but Allah.
The second sentence: Wa Asyhadu anna Muhammada-r-Rasulu-l-Laah.
Meaning: And I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
Meaning of the Creed
Recognition of Selfhood (Syahadat Tawheed)
A Muslim believes only God as the only God and there is no god worthy of worship but Allah SWT. God is a god in a religious sense and makes the motivation and purpose of one's life, only to God (God) we ask and ask for help. By pledging the first creed, it means to have established itself to make Allah Almighty a goal, a motivation and a way of life.
Apostolic Recognition (Apostle Creed)
By pledging the second sentence of the creed it has established the conviction in the heart and soul that all the teachings of Allah and the religion of Islam are delivered through Prophet Muhammad SAW. By believing what is conveyed from the Qur'an and hadiths it is sufficient to believe in Allah and His Messenger.
Another Meaning of the Creed
The pledge, the statement has become a Muslim over what he believes. Having said the creed then it has the duty of establishing God's sentence and fight for it. Reproduce good deeds and stay away from bad practices.
Oath, which is vowed to readily accept any risk in practicing the teachings of Islam. Prepare also to be responsible for his religion if anyone wants to destroy it.
