The House majority is now down to 218-213. Republicans can only afford to lose two votes now.
House vacancies aren't filled until a special election. In Colorado the parties each nominate the candidate for the special election. The governor sets the date.
Lauren Boebert is planning to run for his seat in November. I wonder if Republicans will choose her. If they do and she wins, then her current seat will become vacant.
I wouldn't count on a Democratic pickup. The fourth district is heavily Republican. It is why Boebert is planning to switch districts.
(Reminder for Ukraine aid unfortunately that a discharge petition needs a hard 218 votes regardless of vacancies. Though there are other potential measures that only require a simple majority)
