Kendrick "DAMN" Lamar Wins Pulitzer Prize 2018

It's the first hip-hop album recognized in the history of the Prize.

Kendrick Lamar has been granted the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his impactful studio collection, "DAMN.," discharged a year ago. Widely praised when it was out, Rolling Stone regarded him "the best rapper alive." The collection was named for numerous Grammy Awards; it went ahead to win Best Rap Album.

The Pulitzer board portrayed the collection as "a virtuosic tune accumulation bound together by its vernacular genuineness and cadenced dynamism that offers influencing vignettes catching the multifaceted nature of present day African-American life."

Lamar has reverberated in the realm of hip-jump, and music everywhere, since he broke into the standard with his 2012 collection, "Great Kid, M.A.A.D City."
