Original Geisha Tattoo

This is part of a full sleeve of Japanese style tattoo art I am working on. This is on a good friend I have known for over 20yrs. This tattoo took about 3.5 hours. This is a freshly done tattoo and the face will be less pink looking and more white once healed. I will share the rest of the sleeve in the future.
The Meaning behind the tattoo "a decapitated geisha symbolizes what one would do for love. the geisha only means is to be a servant of pleasure and never to feel love...the geisha falls in love with a buddist monk knowing the penalty for this would be death. the geisha takes the chance to feel what love is and in the end is caught and beheaded. She sacrificed herself to feel and know what love is."

In the thumbnail I was like, oh, that's pretty...and then I saw the knife and I was like Oh! Ohhhh...? LOL I vaguely remember that Geisha are not supposed to fall in love, but I forgot the penalty was death. Thanks for the explanation. It actually is an amazing piece of work...and definitely a conversation starter!
