So I went on a wild goose chase after making the mistake of telling Jacob that we could get a new locomotive to go around the Christmas tree this year. Well once that got in his head he was dead set on setting up the Christmas tree and getting that new locomotive, despite us having no plans to start decorating for Christmas yet!
We looked around at the options in the local stores for a new train, but the pickings were slim and the ones that we liked were like $80, which was more than we wanted to spend. My wife found a used train online for $20, but it was around 30 miles away from us. Well, with Jacob set on getting the new train, I proceeded to spend around 2 hours driving around in traffic to get this new train.
It is now around the tree, and after putting some grease on the axles to stop the squeaking, it is working great and Jacob is very happy! What we wouldn't do for our kids right?
As a side note, Jacob is pronouncing it "mocolotive" instead of locomotive... he may have gotten the dyslexia from me! 🤔🤔
