My 5 year old cracks me up! She is so independent and strong willed with a stiff shot of stubborn mixed in. She also loves music and food!

Yesterday we were in the car and as usual, we had the music turned up and we were singing at the top of our lungs. After a while, the music had been turned down but one of the songs was stuck in my head so every few moments Ibwas singing the chorus....which made my 5 year old crack up! Later, after our errands were done and we were settling in for our afternoon, I hear this little voice singing that same chorus again and again. I came around the corner and she looked up from her coloring book and gave me her mean eyes (if you've never seen them before, the are terrifying!) and said "Mom, I am so mad at you! You gived me copyright!" Say what!?!? After a bit of discussion, I figured it out. I had gotten the song stuck in her head and made her copy it so she thought I had given her "copyrights". I was laughing so hard, I nearly peed my pants!

Today when I got off work, Hadley decided she wanted easy mac shells and cheese. I hate the stuff and would prefer my kiddos never eat the stuff, but sometimes I let them have one as a treat.
So she sits down to eat her easy mac when I notice that she has a butter knife trying to cut a pickle. I went over to help her and she proceeded to put her now sliced pickle in her bowl and mix them into her shells and cheese and then scarf the whole bowl as if she had never eaten anything so delicious!

Kids say (and do) the darndest things...
