Do you do good to only those that deserve it, or do you go beyond that to affect the course of humanity around you? If the good you do is purely in response to an act of goodness previously done by the same person to you, or in anticipation of favour, is that really an act of goodness or just another type of "business"?
There are many things to ponder in life - and one of them being: "What would people look back and remember me with when I might have fulfilled my course here on earth"? Take people that have gone before us in history as example; the likes of Mary Slessor (that we all know to be instrumental in the cessation of the killing of twin babies), and the people like Zik Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, et all, that saw to the independence of the great Nation of Nigeria.
All these people in history had one thing in common - selfless sacrifice. They didn't see just the immediate (which would be very myopic), but they saw the future; and that was why they sowed the seed, of which we are reaping from today.
The world would not celebrate the memory of someone because of the possessions he had, but because of the ones he used to affect; positively; the course of humanity. So as you live daily, see yourself that you have a responsibility; not just to yourself; but to the world around you.
