A police officer working outside the Atlanta office at the Monaco Hoca Lounge and a nearby police officer opened fire on gunmen in the encounter, police said.
King Van, a Chicago rapper who was successful in his hometown, died before leaving for Atlanta on Friday morning. The two groups clashed in the parking lot of the Monaco Hokka Lounge on the city’s Trinity Avenue. He is 26 years old.
Police said that the two accused have been taken into custody and action should be taken against them. Authorities had earlier said three people had been killed, but that changed later.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said officers opened fire at two locations. The agency said six of the men shot were men. Officers were not injured. The GBI is conducting an independent investigation into the police firing.

The GBI could not verify the account and is still trying to determine who fired the deadly shot that killed the rapper and two other unidentified individuals.
Police said several people were injured in the unrest, including a man who was hit by a car. The GBI is investigating the incident, involving an officer.

Atlanta police have confirmed that surveillance footage posted on Twitter on Friday showed gunfire during a riot outside a nightclub.
In the video, a large group is dropping clutches with fists. The group jumped out of the back of the SUV and opened fire, apparently killing two people. One of the victims, possibly Bennett, then got into the car.
No officer was involved in the initial filming, and the video matched the details of the Atlanta Police Department incident.
