Having grew up with the knowledge of different forms of governement,
most of us have lost the notion of what a kingdom really is.
In the secular world they are nations where monarchs
rule. In our time, they could be considered as kings, princes,
religious rulers ,generals and dictators that constitute an empire.
The kingdom of God can be defined as the rule of an " eternal"
sovereign over all the universe.
Biblical Scriptures show that God is the monarch of all creation. Psalm 103:19 says
"His kingdom is eternal kingdom".
To describe it frankly, the kingdom of God is a spiritual rule over the lives
of those who willingly submit to God's authority.
Those who defy God's authority and refuse to submit to
to Him are not part of the kingdom of God.
According to Jesus the kingdom of God is supernatural.Jesus said
"His kingdom was not of this world "( John 18:36 ).
The kingdom of God can be interrelated with the grace of salvation
evident in John 3:57 where the kingdom must be entered into by being born again.
Repentance is necessary to be part of the kingdom of God. Matthew 4:17
Another sense in which the kingdom of God is described in the Scripture .
It is the literal rule of Christ on earth during the millenium.
The prophet Daniel said " The God of heaven will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed.
As many other prophets predicted the same thing.
In the practical world, the Bible says that we can possess the kingdom
as long as we fill some condition to be qualified.
Here's how Jesus revealed how to possesed the kingdom.
Matthew 5:3,8, 10 Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Meaning :those who are hungry and longing to received the Holy Spirit.
Those who seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are they which
are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
Lastly, to be able to enter the kingdom of God you must have Jesus.
Jesus is the king and if you are with the king you are already in His kingdom.
Walk with Jesus, dwell with Jesus and you will reign with Jesus.
