Ma'alaea Harbor - Fishing Off The Wall - Maui King Tide!

After body boarding at Makena Beach all day with @mattandcristina we stopped by Ma’alaea Harbor to check out how the King Tide Swells were rolling in.

Ma'alaea Harbor King Tide Rolling In!

When we arrived at the Harbor police cars were blocking the entrance, so we pulled over in the adjacent dirt lot to see if we could get a little closer to the King Tide! Sirens were screaming over the sound of a hundred combustion engines purring, as a gang of bikers circled through harbor, in a futile attempt to dodge the traffic the King Tide had brought in.

Waves rolled in unusually high that day, crashing over the seawall sending splashes of marine water outward and even up and over cars into the parking lot. I set my tripod up as close to the edge of the harbor as I could and waited for the King Tide. There were some waves rolling in straight towards my camera, the sea spray falling inches from my camera lens. A fisherman on my left had caught something, luckily I was right there to document the catch!
