If it's a legendary spot for the practice of kitesurfing in the waves, it's the Morne south-west of Mauritius and its famous wave One Eye 👁.

It takes its name from the mountain 🗻 (Le Morne Brabant) facing it and where we can see, dug in the rock, a profile of a face with an eye created by a cavity. It's a must for any kitesurfer who goes to Mauritius for the first time.

It's smooth as a baby's skin, fast, hollow and breaks in very little background. It's a wave that requires a minimum of experience at the risk of ending up with some more or less deep cuts left by contact with the coral.

In addition the wind being side-off (coming from the ground, we will come back in a future article), the slightest mistake can be fatal (if the wind drops for example) and take you towards Madagascar 850 kilometers further. .. And I'm not talking about the nice animals that are walking in this area of the Indian Ocean and have several rows of teeth 🦈 !

Otherwise the place is incredible ... Turquoise funds, a transparency of rare purity, not really need wetsuits and above all, a magnificent view of the Morne Brabant (Photo above). Add to that the heat and the sun and you have the cocktail of Paradise 🕶.

For information, le Morne offers a huge lagoon and accessible waves (Little Reef and Manawa) so that apprentices kitesurfers can also find happiness and progress safely.
