We found this little guy in the hedge across the road, afraid and all by himself. He was starving. The neighbor said he'd seen this baby out there for 3 days... he said nothing and did nothing. It was unseasonably cold at night right around then.
We lured him out pretty easily because he was cold, alone, tired and desperate to be near another living creature. He couldn't walk properly and fell over every 2-3 tiny steps he tried to take.
I grabbed him up and held him close. He was too small to ever think I wasn't his mother... he got used to me fast.
I made him cat milk and tried to feed him with a dropper but he bit it clean off. He used a bowl from then on. A teeny little bowl.
He started eating wet/canned food a week or two later.
His back feet seemed to be both pointing straight out to the sides. He couldn't walk properly for a long time.
I thought he might never get them going really well. (But he was so tough, just a bit of affection and food was all he needed)
I have a severe allergy to cats that is life threatening. I end up having such bad asthma attacks that my lungs bleed, don't respond to the inhalers etc. Even with a high dose of prednisone. (30-50mg)
This was in October, and now, after finding him a home, moving and cleaning everything, I'm still stuck on prednisone. (Even a house that has previously had cats in it, makes me very sick. With much more than just the lung problems... it's really unbelievable how a severe allergy can even make joints swell up and lots of other stuff. The house had mold as well, which I'm severely allergic to also... spent months staying outside all night, and trying to sleep sitting up so my lungs didn't fill with water... fun times... but the kittens made me laugh and gave me a chance to be silly still. I couldn't have made it without him. Life was too rotten just then... worse than I thought it could get.)
Anyway, I love this tiny kitten to pieces, he's on youtube too. He loved Metal music and loved to watch videos on my phone, the tv or his little off brand ipad. He could sing too. :)
I found him a home with 2 other cats and a person that loves him. I miss him so much. He was pestering me constantly, and climbing from my ankle to my shoulder, using claws all the way.
Since I raised him and not his real mother he doesn't act like a cat. He likes lying on his back like a baby human, and wants to be under the covers in bed, with his head on a pillow.
I used to stick my tongue out at him in a silly way, and one day he did it back! I was so surprised. His new keeper says he's so smart, and "mean but perfect".
I hope I can recover enough to go see him at some point. He's a Rescue Kitten, but in the way that I needed him and his new keeper says that she really needed him too. Going through some hard things. The Magic kitten, I called him Yaguar. (Yamir Yaguar... and Meew-Weew... his favorite word) but his name is now Merlin. :)
So happy to have been able to save him. I have no idea how he got there, where his mother went, or what happened to his brothers and sisters. I can only hope that they were rescued and they missed this baby.
The neighbors there had a cat, let her have kittens, and never fed her. She nearly starved before I started feeding her. Her collar was so tight if she wasn't half starved she would have suffocated. They laughed at her kittens playing in heavy traffic. :/ I saved those guys too and they were bigger than this tiny kitten, he loved to beat on them. He was stronger and more silly than they were at 6 times his size. But all that is another post in itself... easily.
I kept him in the bathroom in a box with a reptile heat rock. It got pretty chilly at night, and being alone near the floor...
He loved the heat rock and hugged it most of the time... I love my heating pad I have now too... I can't blame him.
He lived in the bathroom... so he got lonely at times... meaning he was very talkative and very persistent when anyone went in there... Later on he was out all the time. I had almost everything packed to move, and didn't want him to get lost, stuck or make his way outside. I had to leave the patio door opened all the time because of the serious mold problem... including at night... and there were other cats and raccoons... they started coming in at night and made life even harder!
Jimi Hendrix Kitten
Leopard Spots on the underside!!
Such a sweet little kitten.
Warming the feet up by the heater...
I saw him playing with, or harassing an ant for a couple of days... then found the ant dead in the livingroom, so I made a pendant. Thanks for the Ant Yaggi.
