That's the current state of my pink rendition of Gnoodles the gnome, and as you can see I'm about to finish the body.

When I turned the design upside down it gave me ice-cream and wafer cone vibes. If I needed to make an ice-cream and wafer cone all I’d need to do would be to change the colour of the wafer cone and perhaps add some textured moss stitch. For the ice-cream top I may just leave the pink as a raspberry ice-cream flavour or add some chocolate sprinkles.

The gnome knitting process so far has not been pain free. I’ve had to unravel a number of times because it didn’t look right. I’ll show you below the sort of issue I’ve had :

I couldn’t work out why I was getting a hole. I’ll leave the mistake as a reminder to really follow the instructions. It was all clearly written down but I just hadn’t paid enough attention. After that I managed to do the increases to the left and to the right properly.

I've also done a bit of collage there putting the two unfinished little arms that I've knitted on top of one of gnomes on the book page I'm reading. I think the fit is good there. It was interesting how the author has grouped all the ‘types and sizes of’ arms, noses and beards into one section of the book.

Knitting the arms was very straightforward and I’d actually showed you how I did my gnome arms here. Mine were a bit smaller but the technique was similar. Here's a video from the author herself giving tips on how to finish the arms more neatly:

I really like how the shaping of my Gnoodles is going. I only need to complete the base, knit the nose and then finish the details so I’ll hopefully finish tomorrow.
