People may not notice that having the title of a hero is not only for those who died fighting for our freedom but also for those who are still alive fighting for our freedom from the bondage of incompetence and ignorance. These heroes’ are called teachers.
They are heroes who may have not won wars but they are those who educated different people who are now making significant decisions about our country. They may have never known to use a stethoscope, but because of them, we have doctors whom we consult when we feel sick. They may not be well-traveled, but they brought us to wonderful places through the highways of our imagination. They may have never known the entirety of the lows of our land, but through time they have produced lawyers with whom we inquire for legal counsel. They may have never had the chance to embody the fullness of being a teacher, but in their own little ways, they have proved that they can touch our lives and from us, they create heroes for the next generation.
A good teacher is like a candle which consumes itself to light the way for others. Teachers have the responsibility of shaping the lives of their countrymen while sacrificing much strength and at times even their own personal resources. It is their joy to build lives who afterward build our nation. It is their greatest pride to create not just men of education but men of character. Being a teacher is really a tough job, It is the only profession whose returns benefit other people more than the teachers themselves.
Teachers can’t be all things to all people. Like any profession, there are those who are great and there are those who are bad, but they are passionate people who enjoy making a difference. They are real people. They make mistakes but they go to work in front of the toughest audience. There is nothing more exciting for them than seeing our light bulbs go off and passions ignited, but nothing more heartbreaking than seeing our flames die and interest fade. We know their profession is not easy, but we do not understand their daily challenges. Teaching is a number of professions rolled into one. They aren’t in their profession for money. They may have one of the most important jobs in the world, but they have to wait years to see the fruits of their labors.
Teacher’s play an important role in our society. They are more than mere educators. They ore our dream builders. They opened our minds to a wide range of things in life while we were still kids. They are our avenue of growth. They are the unsung heroes of our lives. They are heroes who did not fight with guns and swords, but they inspired with just pens and papers. They are the most influential in the world. Teachers have a great influence on the prosperity of our people and deserve the title of hero. Without them, we know nothing. And without them, we can never be the person we aim to be.
