Komodo, or more called Komodo Dragons(varanus komodoensis), the largest lizard species in the world living on the island of komodo, rinca, flores, gili motang, as well as in the dyami gili in southeast nusa. This lizard by the indigenous people of Komodo Island is also called by local name "ora".

Komodo live solitary. They do not gather in groups and they prefer to hunt alone. As a cold-blooded animal, the Komodo drags up the hill in the garden to bask in the morning, and then returns to the shady areas to cool down. Komodo dragons like humans, they can also be stressful when there are too many people around. Park guards will soon warn visitors to stay away from these animals when this happens.

Komodo dragons have no sense of hearing, despite having ear holes. These lizards can look as far as 300 meters, but since the retina only has conical cells, it is not so good looking in the darkness of night. Komodo dragon can distinguish colors but not how to distinguish objects that do not move. Komodo dragons usually marry between June and July. And in September, females can put up to 15-30 eggs after making a nest made of turkey feathers stored in a two-meter deep hole. In this month about 70-80 nests can be found on Rinca Island. To reduce the risk of predators such as snakes or wild boars eating eggs, female dragons dug a few extra holes near their nests that were an attempt to disguise the true hole. These holes will be made as closely as possible until Komodo's mother gets confused in recognizing the real one.

The mothers incubate their eggs for three months and then leave the nest, and come back after nine months later when the eggs will hatch. Interestingly, it is said that female dragons only care about their eggs, not after hatching. After hatching, newborn Komodo dragons climb trees to avoid predators and survive by eating lizards, small snakes and living in trees until they reach 3 to 5 years. Komodo is a cannibal that can eat peer like. Komodo dragons have a toxic saliva that contains deadly bacteria. They usually bite their prey and then follow its prey until the bacteria work.

That's a little review of some facts about giant reptiles which is said to be one of the ancient animal relics that are still alive today, may be able to increase our knowledge of all animals that live only in this State of Indonesia.
