travel to Punggye-ri for 12 hours by train.

Then they have to drive for an hour before arriving at the location. "We saw the destruction from a distance of about 500 meters,"
After a North Korean official shouted a countdown, a huge explosion took place where journalists felt the heat and dust that hit them.
the first explosion occurred at 11:00 local time in the northern underground tunnel.
Then at 2 pm, the North blew up two other tunnels, barracks and supporting facilities in Punggye-ri.
"It is not known whether the closure of the site was also attended by Leader Kim Jong Un,"
Foreign journalists comprising South Korea, the United States (US), China, Russia, and Britain, were invited to the destruction of the site.
The site has carried out five of six nuclear tests since October 2006, with the latest trial taking place on September 3, 2017.
At that time, the communist state tried a hydrogen bomb (thermonuclear) which claimed to be their strongest weapon.
The closure of Punggye-ri is a commitment undertaken by the North to denuclearize the territory of the Korean Peninsula.
In addition, the destruction comes ahead of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kim who is scheduled to be held in Singapore, June 12 later.
