K-Boppin': My feels for BTS is definitely not 'Fake Love'

Prepare to be captivated and speechless

At least that's how I felt after watching BTS's new music video and song Fake Love. Check it out!

BTS (방탄소년단) - FAKE LOVE

Genre: Hip-Hop Pop

So before I jump into this post I actually took the time to record my reaction (I even woke up early and recorded myself before work) and tried my hand at a little video editing (that looks like it's from the early 90's but I'm impressed at myself for my newbie status) so please check that out here.

BTS has reached an incredible level not only in K-Pop world where they were incredibly famous globally, but they've managed to prick themselves into the bubble that is known as the United States of America. It's super weird, I walked into Target yesterday and BTS's album is there in the new releases...HOLY CRAP! BTS has strength in their artistic authenticity and that all of that is expressed in Fake Love.

This is an emotional piece as RM describes from their interviews (in my paraphrasing), "It's about being true to yourself. If you're not then your love will not last, whether it is a relationship with you and another or even a relationship with yourself."

And gosh, the lyrics...they're so deep man!

For you I could pretend like I was happy when I was sad
For you I could pretend like I was strong when I was hurt
I wish love was perfect as love itself
I wish all my weaknesses could be hidden
I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t come true

Translated lyrics from Genuis.com

'I grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true'...I think that is one of my favorite lines as the imagery of when you're trying to live out a different image, paint a false but perfect image of yourself to someone else, the beautiful flower, but when it comes down to it the flower can't bloom because it's not real.

Imagery of it all: GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS

The instant the music starts and the silhouettes of the member dancing contrasted with the white background of the hands grabbing for something that is not there. There's the fan theories connecting each member's vices with previous music videos which I'll have to read eventually, but from someone that is not at that level, I can definitely see the connections from DNA and Blood, Sweat, Tears with the color palettes and artistic symbolism.

One of my other favorite parts has to be the moment water starts spilling into Jimin's room and the fire explosion with Suga. What's with Jimin and always being in water (like bathtubs...) someone tell me? The moment Suga smiles at the fire coming at him was a heart-wrenching moment, like he was happy at his own self destruction.

Lastly, some very expressive Kookie shirt grabbing moments has got this Noona and pretty sure all Army's floored. How is this boy so perfect!?

@vermillionfox and I of course were texting each other for the rest of the day with our fangirl feels and I was asking her if I could have a real life Kookie.

She consoled me and told me of course I could. Thanks girl! 💗
