Just a little over a year after their debut Pristin returns with a sub-group, Pristin ‘V’ and their song Get It. Check it out!
PRISTIN V(프리스틴 V) - Get It
Genre: Early 2000’s Hiphop Pop-ishI like Pristin as a group for their strong confidence image. Their songs go along the lines: “I like you, you like me, let’s do something about it!” However it’s been difficult to stick onto them as WeeWoo and We Like (their promotional songs) are repetitive songs in their sound and lyrics, so it’s hard to keep on a playlist.
Get It is different though, still retaining the bad girl vibes but with an equally bad girl song. It reminds me of western early 2000’s girl groups, like 3LW’s “No More” or maybe some Fifth Harmony vibes with a strong bass leading the instrumental part of the song. The lyrics follow in suit with the girls telling their guy not to hesistate and to come get her.
Even so forward to say, “Shall we sleep in the same room?”

There is a clear definition in verses to choruses to showcase each girl’s vocal talents that is often difficult to show in the larger group. Subgroups in the K-Pop are ways to garner more popularity towards the larger group as whole through more promotions and giving the group a chance to experiment with different concepts.
I particularly like this release for still keeping the essence of what Pristin has produced so far but far more content than what WeeWoo and We Like has brought to the table.
I also like this direction Pristin is going in, as, if you read my past posts, know I’m not a fan of cutesy concepts. Girls that show fierceness is totally my thing and if Pristin overall continues with this type of strength I can see them going very strong as a girl group.
Thanks for reading! If you love K-Pop don’t forget to follow me at @lonniedi. I post about new releases and old K-Pop song and I would love to chat about it with you!
And as always...
