Mount Seorak is the highest peak of the Taebaek Mountain Range (태백 산맥), located in Gangwon province, east of South Korea. Mount Seorak is also called Seolsan or Seolbongsan. Named Seorak (雪 嶽; "Snow Mountain") because the snow that goes down here is durable or the mountains are white like snow.
