약사 유리광 칠불 본원 공덕경

"세존이시여,
이제 저희들은 부처님의 위신력을 입어
칠불 여래 부처님의 이름을 이제 듣게 되고
모든 악도에 처하게 되는 경우가 있더라도 다시는
공포함이 없겠사오며

저희들은 서로 마음을 한결같이 하여
몸이 다할 때까지 불,법, 승 삼보에 귀의하옵고
맹세코 일체 중생을 구하겠다는 큰 책임을 져서
그들이 이롭고 풍족하고 안락하도록 보호하겠으며

도시나 시골이나 그윽한 숲속 등 어느 곳에든지
이 경전을 널리 퍼뜨려 독송하도록 하겠으며
혹은 칠불 여래 부처님의 이름을 받아 지니고 공경하며
공양하는 이는 저희들 권속이 그를 호위하여 모든 화난(禍難)을
벗어나고 소원이 모두 만족하도록 하겠으며

혹은 병고나 악운에 시달려 벗어나기를 바라는 이가 있다면
마땅히 그들로 하여금 이 경전을 독송하되
다섯 빛깔의 실오라기 오방색실로 저희들의 이름을 맺어
두었다가 소원을 이룬 뒤에 그 맺은 것을 풀도록 하겠사옵니다.(8-27)

"Blessed ones,
we are now clothed with the power of the Buddha.
we will now hear the name of the Seven Buddhas.
and we will never again have any fear
fear again.

We will be of one mind with each other
to abide by the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Three Noble Truths until our bodies are exhausted.
and take the great responsibility of saving all sentient beings.
and protect them for their good, prosperity, and comfort.

In the city, in the countryside, in the woods, and everywhere else.
I will spread this sutra far and wide to be recited.
Or whoever takes the name of the Buddha of the Seven Noble Truths, keeps it, honors it.
and honor the name of the Seven Buddhas, we will escort him, so that he may be free from all misfortune.
and all his wishes will be fulfilled.

Or if there are those who are afflicted with illness or bad luck and wish to be relieved of them.
then let them recite this sutra.
and bind their names to it with the five-colored threads of the orangery.
and then, after they have fulfilled their wishes, they will untie it." (8-27)
