Yeosu is the place where the Expo 2012 was held. Yeosu is located in the southwest of the Republic of Korea and has a beautiful night sea. Thanks to a song by popular singer Jang Bum - joon 's "Yeosu Night Sea", it became a popular tourist destination in Korea.
It is quiet and at night, the night view of the sea and bridge makes you feel at ease.
Every year in September, the fireworks festival is also magnificent, and many fireworks decorate the night sky for about an hour.
What you need to see in Yeosu is:
- Odongdo lighthouse
It is 'Odongdo Lighthouse'. The Odongdo Lighthouse, located on the top of Odongdo Island, was first lighted on May 12, 1952.
The lighthouse was a white circular reinforced concrete structure with a height of 8.48 m, but in 2002 it was rebuilt to a back octagon of 27 meters high.
The inside of the lighthouse has a spiral staircase structure with an 8-story height, and an elevator for observation decks is installed on the outside so that tourists visiting the lighthouse can see the South Sea including Yeosu, Namhae and Hadong at a glance.
- Yeosu Seafood Market
It is 'Yeosu Seafood Market'. The Yeosu Seafood Market is a place to sell fish and fresh seafood from the nearby seas. It was opened in 2010 with modern facilities and it is convenient to use with over 100 sushi houses.
- Yeosu Water Cable Car
It is 'Yeosu Maritime Cable Car'. The Yeosu Maritime Cable Car crosses the 1.5km long sea between Dolsan Park and Jasan Park for 5km per hour.
From Asia to Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam, this is the fourth longest cable car ride in the world, offering spectacular panoramic views of Yeosu and a range of paintings from many of the world's tallest waterways. There are 10 crystal cabins and 40 general cabins, especially if the floor is transparent crystal cabin, you can see the ocean spreading under your feet.
If you use the cable car during the sunset, you can see the beautiful sunset that spreads out over the sea. If you use it at night, you can see the night view of Dolsan Bridge that embraces Yeosu Night Sea.
