Seoul: 29 people died in a fierce fire caused by inflammatory material outside a building in South Korea. Experts compared this phenomenon to London's Grenfell Tower accident. The fire broke out in the eight-storey Imarat of southwestern Jaisen, South Korea. In this accident, 29 people died and 29 others were injured. There was also a fitness center and a restaurant in this building.
Experts said that the incident of fire in the building could have ever been done. There was insufficient arrangements for emergency exits. Fire engines due to flammable materials and illegally parked cars have trouble reaching there. Video footage shows that the fire spreads rapidly upwards.
One eyewitness said, "The voices of the blasts were heard. I saw the fire on the ground floor and then spread rapidly due to the inflammable material. "The fire allegedly took the whole building in its grip in just seven to eight minutes.
Engineer Professor Chung Sang-Man from the University of Kongju said that the building was made from cement and foam sandwiches. It is more likely to spread the fire.
