넷플릭스 오리지널 영화. 연기와 연출이 모두 좋다. 고전적인 추리 소설 분위기를 만끽할 수 있다. 흐름이 느려서 다소 지루하게 느껴질 수도 있다.
에드가 앨런 포우가 등장인물로 나와 사건을 함께 해결한다는 내용인데 생각보다 포우의 활약이 두드러지진 않았다. 반전이 있긴 한데 효과적으로 부각되지는 못했다.
(아내에 대한 그리움은 전혀 없고) 딸을 그리워하는 남자, 아들을 필요 이상으로 자랑스러워하는 여자, 여동생의 시신을 부둥켜 안고 우는 남자. 근친상간의 코드가 가득하다.
