On Monday night, Jesse Powell, the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken CEO, donated $1 million to the nonprofit Coin Center at the advocacy association's yearly gala in New York City. Kraken likewise pledged to match any bequest to Coin Center until the finishing of the month, up to $1 million.
It was the largest single donation conducted to Coin Center, said Neeraj Agrawal, Washington, D.C.-based think tank spokesman.
Kraken, who is based in San Francisco, is no foreigner to the regulatory minefield Coin Center endeavors to resolve and construct bridges across.
