Hi, my lovely friends. Today I was lucky because I didn't plan to come here. The weather is nice and the view in front of me is beautiful. Today the weather is very nice. The sun is gentle and there is a cool breeze blowing gently on my face and body. Actually, we didn't plan to come here. We just came to find something to eat. We knew that there was a place along the way that was worth stopping by. Let's go. Let's take some pictures along the way and share them with our friends.
Where is this place?🤔......
Wat Yai Chom Prasat
A temple of Thai history for over 400 years
Wat Yai Chom Prasat is located in Tambon Tha Chin, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province. It is an ancient temple that is over 400 years old. It is estimated that it was built since the Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Maha Chakkraphat. The original name of the temple was given by King Rama V as Wat Yai Sakhon Buri, and he also granted the Tripitaka and elevated it to the status of a royal temple. However, the name was later changed to Wat Yai Chom Prasat.
Inside the temple, there are important ancient sites, including an old chapel made of brick and mortar with a curved base resembling the hull of a junk, and the arches of the doors and windows are decorated with stucco. In addition, there are wood carvings on the doors and windows of the chapel, with patterns of plants, trees, mountains, animals, and people in Chinese art. These are beautiful deep carvings into the wood. The Fine Arts Department registered this temple as a national historical site on September 27, 1936.
This is another historical temple of Thailand, located near Bangkok, and is just as beautiful as the temples in other famous provinces. It can be said that it is both a temple and an important historical site. Anyone who visits Samut Sakhon, don’t forget to stop by to pay homage and pay respects. If you bring your children or grandchildren, in addition to going to the temple to make merit together, you will also get to learn about history at the same time.
