ABD Dışişleri Bakanlığı, Birleşik Devletler’in BM’nin Filistinli mülteci ajansı için tüm finansmana son verdiğini açıkladı.
Örgütü, Birleşmiş Milletler Yardım ve İşleri Dairesi'ni (Unrwa) “geri dönüşü olmayan kusurlu” olarak nitelendirdi.
Sözcü Heather Nauert, ABD yönetiminin sorunu dikkatle gözden geçirdiğini ve "Unrwa'ya ek katkı yapmayacağını" söyledi.
Filistin Devlet Başkanı Mahmud Abbas'ın bir sözcüsü daha sonra hareketinin halkına karşı bir "saldırı" olduğunu söyledi.
Nabil Abu Rudeina, Reuters haber ajansına verdiği demeçte, "Böyle bir ceza, ABD'nin artık bölgede bir rolünün olmadığı ve çözümün bir parçası olmadığı gerçeğini değiştirmeyi başaramayacak." Dedi.
Kararın "BM kararlarının bir meydan okuması" olduğunu da sözlerine ekledi.

“Unrwa'nın okullarının, sağlık merkezlerinin ve acil durum yardım programlarının“ geçersiz bir şekilde kusurlu ”olduğu yönündeki eleştirileri mümkün olan en güçlü ifadelerle reddediyoruz.
Unrwa nedir?
Unrwa, 1948 Arap-İsrail savaşının yerinden edilmiş yüz binlerce Filistinlinin dikkatini çekecek şekilde kuruldu.
Ajans şu anda sağlık hizmetleri, eğitim ve sosyal hizmetler de dahil olmak üzere Ortadoğu'da beş milyondan fazla kişiyi destekliyor.
ABD, 2016 yılında 368 milyon dolar (284 milyon dolar) sağlayan ve Unrwa'ya yönelik en büyük tek bağışçı oldu ve bölgedeki faaliyetlerinin yaklaşık% 30'unu finanse etti.
Trump yönetimi Ocak ayında Unrwa'ya 60 milyon dolarlık yardımda bulunmuş ancak bir inceleme beklemeden 65 milyon dolar daha vermiştir. Bu 65 milyon dolarlık ödemenin artık iptal edilmesi bekleniyor.
