Blogging has always looked like fun to me and I thought I would try it at some stage. But, you know, life happens and it appeared to be a pipedream that would always be out of reach. Cryptocurrency also fascinated me and I felt left out of a whole new world that was happening all around me. Friends introduced me to Steemit and suddenly I was not on the outside anymore. I was a blogger! A blogger that could possibly get paid! In a cryptocurrency!
No matter that the cryptocurrency's name sounded like a character from a children's comic book or a low budget porn movie. I was in.
Everything was new and the learning curve seemed endless. My biggest challenge was getting noticed among thousands of others also trying to get noticed. Everyone seemed to be blogging about cryptocurrency. I loved reading this as I knew nothing about it. But I was a million years away from blogging about it. Unless I could create a blog asking a lot of questions about a topic...
Enter Kryptonia
Kryptonia is built on Superior Coin, a currency for ideas, services and collaboration. The premise is simple. People pay you Superior Coin to complete tasks online. Tasks like: Read my blog and share it on your Facebook profile. Or: Like and re-tweet this tweet of mine. Or: Like this post on Facebook and share it on your profile.
And you can pay them Superior Coin to do tasks for you similar to the above. I have a favourite task that I pay people for: Upvote and comment on my post by answering the question in the post.
It is awesome! I get noticed! People comment. People from all over the world. And I get to have conversations with them.
They may have read my post anyway. And they may have had a response or an opinion. But not knowing me, they may have neglected to post something.
Now they comment. To get the 10 Superior Coin I promised them, yes. But they post. And I respond. As a result, conversation happens. And I have fun!
The number of comments on my posts has increased from less than 10 to more than 40. Awesome!
This is why I love Kryptonia. Steemit gave me an opportunity to start blogging in a community that would respond to my work and help me get better at it. Kryptonia is giving me a carrot to draw people to my posts and see their responses. As a result, I'm not only drawing like-minded people. How boring would that be? I get to interact with a diversity of people. Everyone is extremely polite but I get to follow their posts too and learn from a person with an opposing opinion.
However...
Yes, there is an however. Kryptonia makes it very easy to cheat. And people do cheat!! I do not understand it. The tasks are easy. And part and parcel of the very reason we all are doing this. Why cheat?!?
Luckily, Kryptonia also makes it very easy to revoke the Superior Coin someone took from you without doing the task. You just need to monitor it.
I recently got some good advice from @fitinfun in her post How and Why I use Kryptonia Review after One Month. Read it. It will help you to use Kryptonia more effectively. I now limit the number of people I allow to complete each task. As a result, I can now post new tasks often and pay more per person. It is also easier to know who took Superior Coin without doing the task.
If you want to join me on my Kryptonia journey, please use this link. I will earn a little bit of Supercoin if you do. This will enable me to get more people to my Steemit posts.
All of these things will evolve and it will happen rather fast. It has been a fun journey thus far and I'm sure there is more fun to be had.
Are you on Kryptonia? Do you have any advice for us?
Kryptonia is a community site and it's where the community polices itself and and takes care of those trying to abuse the system and steal coins which is what is happening when people take coins without any intention on following through on the Task requirements.
Revoking is actually more important than people realise. It is not just a way to get coins back. Every time a person gets Revoked their reputation score drops. This is then an indicator to others that the person is not behaving as they should. Then Tasks can be created that can only be completed by people with a certain minimum reputation score. This will weed out those abusing the system.
People can also build up their own trusted networks within the community. Connections have been implemented which is where someone Follows you and you Follow them back. You can then do Tasks that only your Connections can complete and if someone doesn't do your Task you Unfollow them which breaks the Connection and they can't do your Tasks in the future.

Got broad shoulder, those who don't mess up... are not trying something new (or not working).

I am also on Kryptonia. Joined yesterday. It's a great platform and helps one meet new people and form new relationships. That's what I love about communities. Just the other day I joined Steemit Ramble on Discord and I got a chance to take part in the Pimp Your Post event. Really great. Met a lot of people there.

Yes I am in Kryptopia and thank you so much for linking my post about it. I like all of my ideas in it lol. Like you, I am very happy to have the votes and interaction I would not otherwise get.
Since I wrote the post I did change to tell people they need to have 50% power available to vote with. And I am most definitely revoking now. I could not get the blocking to work over there in the last couple of days, but if it does work I will do it. There are too many good people to mess around with the bad.
I think I get the most benefit by going in frequently and checking tasks I can complete. I get SUP by many ways besides just on steemit. Today I was in fb, tweeting, and also on Klout. I feel happy with this action and will continue.
I am normally not big on resteeming but I am going to try an experiment each Sunday and complete all the tasks that require resteeming in one fell swoop. I might resteem 10-20 I think. I will only do this for posts I want on my feed and I will comment to those people to tell them what I'm doing.
I'm not sure if this will matter to any of my 3700 steemit followers but I will try it each Sunday for a month and then decide.

Thank you @fitinfun. 3700 followers! Wow! Well done!
I also struggle with the resteem expectation of many tasks. I have been frugal with resteeming and avoid tasks that ask me to resteem something I do not find interesting. Doing it on one day seems like a good idea. You have many of them...

That's me - full of ideas. I'm impossible in person :)
I'm choosing Sunday since it is a dead day here.
I follow everyone - So I think that is why I have so many back. I never use my feed here and have other ways to find posts - such as Kryptopia now.

Hi @reonlouw I've from Kryptonia: @tspink and also read @fitnfun's post related to this very topic. Unfortunately people cheat. Not only on Kryptonia but in life as well. It's unfortunate and makes it harder for people like you and I to continue to post regularly or spend time tracking everyone down in order to "check their work behind them" to ensure they actually completed the task. That is one feature I wish Kryptonia could install to ensure people actually completed the task, although I don't know of a solution myself to make this possible. So in the mean time we're left in the present state, which is fine and the benefits far out weigh the nuances (in my opionion) the value of Superior coin at the present moment is so low it doesn't really matter how many people "Take" without completing the task though this may change in the future as the price will undoubtedly rise. In the mean time I agree it's a great resource to use to foster relationships within the steemit and kryptonia communities which is personally why I continue to use it daily. :)

Thank you @tspink. I think 'revoking' is a good thing. And much easier when you make the task available to fewer people.
Thank you for contributing!

I definitely agree and have started to make my task available to fewer people as well for a higher reward. Hopefully this will help to increase honestly and decrease the amount needing revoking

Checking the task if completed is necessary because there are completers who dont complete the task but get the reward. Good thing revolk is there to get back the coin 😄 but be careful in revolking, revolk only those who didnt complete the task, because if its found that you are revolking completers who actually complete the task just for the sake of returning back the reward you will be ban from using kryptonia.
