Through humans - Although rare, fleas can use humans as a means of transportation to get into the house. The ability of fleas to jump vertically up to about 6 inches, is not difficult for fleas to ride through human clothing or shoes.
Through rodents - If you have a problem or find a lot of mice entering at home this might be a strong reason for you to have flea problems too. Mice can carry fleas on their bodies and spread the plague to pets like cats or dogs and even humans.
When visiting a veterinarian - The reason why a cat can have fleas on this one does sound strange, but this one point is certainly not impossible for your cat to bring fleas during a visit to the vet for a vaccination or general examination. No matter how clean the vet office you visit, fleas are always one step ahead to find a good place for them to hide!
How do cats get fleas?
Watch for the following symptoms to find out about the characteristics and signs of cats with fleas:
There are small lumps and scabies or scabs, which often appear on the neck and along the back of the cat.
It is certainly normal for cats to scratch, but if you find your cat scratching frantically and intensely, especially around their faces, this can indicate that your cat has fleas.
Skin irritation which is generally located behind the neck and around the base of the cat's tail.
Cats can lick themselves to excess if they have fleas. This method is used by cats to help them relieve the itching caused by cat fleas bites.
