Kuah Beulangong - Aceh, Indonesian cullinary

Kuah Beulangong atau yang juga sering disebut dengan "kuah kameng" adalah masakan asli aceh yang terbuat dari campuran rempah-rempah, potongan nangka muda dan daging sapi atau kambing, berbentuk kari namun tidak menggunakan santan. Kenapa disebut kuah beulangong? Karena saat memasakan kuah ini biasanya menggunakan kuali besar atau biasa disebut dengan "beulangong" dalam bahasa acehnya. Masakan ini biasanya ditemui di seputaran Banda Aceh dan Aceh Besar.

Untuk campuran kuah, ada sebagian daerah tidak hanya menggunakan nangka muda, tapi juga ditambahkan pisang muda. Disamping itu juga ada yang menggunakan bagian tengah dari pohon pisang. Masakan ini menjadi menu favorit dalam acara-acara seperti perkawinan, hakikah, syukuran, dan perayaan lainnya.

Konon katanya kuah belangong sudah ada dari jaman Kerajaan Aceh dulunya. Raja sering mengadakan acara masak kuah beulangong, lalu membagikan kepada rakyat. Kuah beulangong berhasil mempersatukan rakyat aceh baik saat memasaknya maupun saat mencicip hidangan lezat ini.
Kuah beulangong merupakan icon Aceh, dan anda wajib mencicipinya jika sedang berada di Aceh. Belum sah ke aceh kalau belum makan kuah beulangong.

Kuah Beulangong or which is also often called "kuah kameng" is a native of aceh cuisine made from a mixture of spices, young jackfruit pieces and beef or goat Curry, shaped but not using coconut milk. Why called kuah beulangong? Because while this gravy cooking typically use a large pot or commonly called "beulangong" in the language of acehnya. This dish is usually found around Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar.
To mix the marinade, there is a portion of area not only use young Jack fruit, but also young banana added. Beside that, there is also the use of the middle part of the banana trees. This dish became the Favorites menu in events such as marriages, hakikah, Thanksgiving, and other celebrations.
It was said belangong gravy already exist from the era of the Kingdom of Aceh once. The King often held a cooking show beulangong gravy, and then distributed to the people. Kuah beulangong succeeded in unifying the people of aceh while cooking or when eat this delicious dish.
Kuah beulangong is an icon, and you should taste it if were in Aceh. Yet legal to aceh if not eat gravy beulangong.
