Always keep one thing in mind, all of the training in wing chun is about attribute development.
The Bo staff is included inWing Chun training, because the strikes done with the Bo staff use the exact muscles utilized in centerline attacks and trapping.
Forward thrusts, angle that come from one side and end up in the middle, all attacks improve centerline attacking and defense in empty hand.
Also the two-handed nature of bo staff develops mechanics of using both hands simultaneously for attack and defense.
Wing Chun masters use the Bo staff for body mechanic development in solo drills.
