Kuwait is an Arab country on the Persian Gulf. It has always been quite hot, but it has never been this hot. The other day, an abnormal heat wave in Kuwait set a world record that surpassed even the temperature maximum in Death Valley in California on July 10, 1913, when it reached 56.7 degrees above zero Celsius. Kuwaitis dying from the heat. And, even literally. The first salvo of such a high temperature occurred on July 8. Since then, more than five people have died from the heat. The rest of the people are sorely suffering from dehydration.
Authorities are urging people not to leave their homes or go outside in peak temperatures or in the open sun, as this is dangerous for their health. Because of such a high temperature, even cars melt!
