Outright lies people have been told about the Kyle Rittenhouse case that they still wouldn’t know are wrong if they’re relying on news outlets. Most of these were known before the trial if you weren’t relying on NPR, AP, or NYT, and now they’ve been solidified
- Kyle did not cross state lines with a gun.
- Wisconsin does allow minors to open carry rifles. Or at the least, there’s a strange exception in the law that allows it.
- Kyle worked in Kenosha; it’s a short drive from his home, perhaps shorter than your own commute to work. It’s not a separate community.
- The first man Kyle shot, Joseph Rosenbaum, has a lengthy criminal record that includes anally raping a minor. He chased Kyle and even lunged for his gun; the Young Turks had to release an apology video for lying for an entire year because “they didn’t know” this until the trial and told their 5M subscribers that Kyle chased Rosenbaum to kill him (despite literally zero evidence).
- The second guy who was shot hit Kyle’s head with a skateboard bad enough that when Kyle turned himself into police the next morning, he had all kinds of bruises and bumps on his head. This guy, Anthony Huber, also tried to grab Kyle’s gun.
- The third guy he shot, Gaige (cr last name), admitted that Kyle’s safety was in jeopardy and that Kyle did not shoot until he pointed his gun at him. His roommate posted the day after that Gaige’s only regret is he didn’t unload his magazine into Kyle, strong evidence that Gaige, who was illegally concealing a handgun, was going to kill Kyle.
All of these can be backed up with freely available video footage or testimony. And note that all of these have been solidified in court during the prosecution — Kyle’s defense lawyers haven’t even begun their case and they’ve been able to get it on official record that all the victims were threatening his life, therefore justifying self-defense.
Please do not rely on standard media outlets for this case. Their coverage has been pathetic, taking things out of context or only saying what the prosecution found while ignoring any of the defense’s cross examination.
