While I have great respect and aknowledge help from previous guide books and their authors each new edition of a guide book can only hope to improve on the old. This guide was born out of a desire to see all the information collected together under one title and include rivers that were missed.
Mike Hayward's and Richard Evan's guides include a total of 59 rivers and becks.Both these books are now out of print and out of date(1992& 1995).
The new guide has detailed maps and descriptions to 110 rivers and becks.( That is an extra 49).
The area covered is Cumbria, Lancashire and Western Yorkshire from The Scottish Borders(Border Esk) down to Manchester (Irwell & Douglas).
